It's time for us to conquer Amsterdam!! Friday 21st of October we'll be playing in The Waterhole on Leidseplein in Amsterdam. If that ain't a reason to come and see us play, what is??
Two new gigs scheduled

For those who think Highway 49 is not doing enough gigs to admire us in our home neighbourhood, we have good news. We have two new gigs scheduled. Friday September 2nd, Highway 49 is playing in Altena Roadhouse in Eethen where we have a night of old-fashioned Rock 'n Roll. Saturday September 24th, we'll play in Leerdam, Café the Old Triangle where we, after a successful audition as the support act of Porfuna Ocean in June, are now asked to play a full evening show! In June we had an ass-kicking performance there, and believe us, the 24th that is definitely going to happen again!

Saturday, 11th of June, we're going to play 2 gigs on one day! In the afternoon we'll perform 2 sets on Wantijpop in Dordrecht. (for once) we're hitting a totally new direction - we'll perform on the Acoustic Stage, so you can't miss that! As we announced before we're playing in the evening in The Old Triangle in Leerdam with Profuna Ocean!

We have a new gig scheduled in Leerdam (Café The Old Triangle) on June 11th, together with Profuna Ocean. More reason to come and check it out! Plus, the entrance is free!

Because of the Rockslag cancellation, we arranged another gig. On friday the 4th of March we're going to play in Xinix again. Finally a gig nearby, so...come! Entrance is for free

Rockslag is not happening for us this year...because Tim had to buy a ticket to the US for the exact same date as the Rockslag finals. Thanks Tim, dick...
But no worries...we're planning a new gig around the same date!

The gig in Exit was awesome. It was while ago since we performed, but it felt really good. We played some new songs, and of course also some classics. Thanks for coming all!

Awesome news! We scheduled another gig! On friday January 7th we're doing a gig in EXIT, Rotterdam, so everybody should come! More details can be found on the GIGS page!

It's true! We are going to participate in Rockslag. We're going to play on the last pre-round of this year on March 12th. Yeah yeah we know, takes a long time, that's why we're going to schedule some more gigs before then. Keep an eye on the website, or even better: Sign up for the Gig Letter on the GIGS page!

We're recording again!

We're working very hard on recording a new demo at this moment. We thought it would be about time to let you hear some new material after the release of our Milestone EP in 2008. That's why we started recording 8 new songs in our studio. We'll keep you posted!

Highway 49...where have you been? »

After half a year of media silence an explanation is in place. In the past couple of months, Highway 49 has seen some serious changes. Ever since we started making music in 2007 we have been with 5 musicians but after thorough contemplation and discussion, Wout has decided to leave the band and the remaining 4 members have decided to continue as a four man band. We are very proud of everything we have done over the last couple of years and especially of the songs we wrote together and we are very grateful to Wout for all the effort he has put in but the time was there for change.
Recently we have taken some time to learn to play all our songs in the new formation and also to expand our repertoire with some new songs, both covers and originals. Our performance on the first of October in Meerkerk was our first chance to showcase ourselves in the new formation and we performed above expectations. At the moment we are trying to set up some more gigs so keep an eye on the gigs page of this website if you are in need of a shot of Highway 49.
Make no mistake; Highway 49 ain’t dead, we are alive and kicking and we hope to see you all again soon at the next kickass performance of Highway 49!
